Description
RainSoft 22 GPD Reverse Osmosis Membrane (TFC-RS9-22)
The RainSoft 22 GPD Reverse Osmosis Membrane (often referenced as TFC-RS9-22, RS-22TFC, or similar part numbers) is a genuine or compatible thin-film composite (TFC) RO membrane designed to deliver up to ~22 gallons per day of high-quality purified water for residential under-sink RainSoft® RO systems and Ultrefiner series units.
These membranes are engineered to reduce a wide range of dissolved contaminants — including total dissolved solids (TDS), salts, heavy metals, and other impurities — producing cleaner, better-tasting drinking water straight from your RO system.
Key Features:
- Rated Production: ~22 GPD (gallons per day) under standard conditions with proper water pressure and temperature.
- TFC (Thin-Film Composite) Technology: High rejection performance for dissolved solids and impurities.
- Standard 9¾″ × ~1½″ Format: Fits most RainSoft Ultrefiner and UF22 series reverse osmosis systems.
- Replace Every 24 Months: Typical service interval for RO membranes; actual life varies with water quality and usage.
Compatibility:
- Works with RainSoft RO models such as 9564, 9568, 9596, 9596N, UF20, UF22T, UF22, M-T1810R24, and similar systems that originally used a 22 GPD membrane.
- Also suitable as a replacement membrane for other brands using the same size and production rating, though verifying system model first is recommended.
Applications
- Residential Drinking Water Systems: Restores daily RO water production and quality for under-sink installations.
- Replacement Element: Replaces worn-out or fouled membranes in RainSoft and compatible RO systems to maintain low TDS output.
- Pre-Filter Pairing: Works with sediment and carbon pre-filters to protect the membrane and extend performance.
Maintenance & Replacement
- Recommended Interval: Replace approximately every 24 months depending on feed water conditions and system usage.
- Protect with Pre-Filters: Always use proper sediment and carbon pre-filters upstream of the membrane to protect it from particulate and chlorine damage.
- Flush Before Use: Flush the RO system after installing a new membrane to clear preservatives and stabilize performance.
